[ He's only known Earth for a few years, very few compared to their long lives. His fondness for it is very real, but new. ]

Stark and Rogers say it doesn't count. It's a machine, like one of their elevators, which can also lift the hammer.

[ loki purses his lips tightly. ]

And what would Stark and the Captain know of anything?

Well they all tried to lift the hammer and couldn't.

[ Thor had suspicions about Steve but he is definitely not sharing them with anyone. ]

I have no opinion about whether the robot counts. It was only a minute old when it lifted it, a baby.

[ Maybe babies can lift the hammer! ]

Why would you? You've never had to care about it until it was taken from you. That's how it always is. It never matters until it's yours.

[ worthiness, the throne, the hammer. only when it's taken away that thor is possessed with a singular instinct to do something about it. ]

Loki, Hela carried the hammer. It is hardly the judge of character anyone thought it was.

[ Thor loves their father. Misses their father. But he is far more aware of the many layers of feelings like that currently. ]

Who is to say if he was worthy when he made it?

Why would he care?

As long as he got to arbitrate, I doubt it mattered much to him.

I think he cared very much, actually. What people thought of him, of us.

[ loki gives a low snort at that. ]

Not of me.

I loved our father, but it is clear reputation was of high importance to him. Perhaps out of guilt for his darker days.
