[ A few minutes later there's a knock on the door. Thor put a shirt back on for the benefit of walking there although he's definitely walked shirtless through most of this ship. A few times. But he's somewhere between expectant but respectfully willing to let Poe decide if they've been seriously flirting or just playfully. He's a striking figure with his height, figure, and eyepatch and he knows it.
But before coming there he stopped by the bar to bring one of his preferred bottles of alien liquor. It seems like a welcoming gesture to come bearing gifts! And first arriving can be intense. Thor himself appeared on a planet, not even on this ship, and it would've been nice to have an ale there. Instead, he had to wait. Thor may or may not intentionally lean on the doorframe to pose in an attractive way. Secretly he can be an awkward duck, but it's not always obvious.]
[ Judging from the picture alone Poe was expecting a man built like a freighter, still the view in person is impressive, and one that he's not shy about taking in fully at the door before he takes a half-set back to give Thor room to get in, his eyebrows still arched by the time he's meeting that gaze with a genuinely warm smile. Getting 'reacquainted' with friends has been awkward at times, but he's kind of getting the hang of it, he thinks. And it's not hard to welcome Thor in easily when he's ridiculously handsome and there's a sort of earnest charm to him that's equally attractive.
He's wearing a shirt too, but it's a thin t-shirt that leaves very little of his own frame to the imagination from the waist up. Below that is a pair of dark, looser pants, clearly the sort of thing he might sleep in, and his hair is tousled — not from sleep, but from his habit of running his hands through it when the curls start getting unruly, as they tend to do later on in the evening when he probably should be getting some sleep, which he tends to dodge more often than he should.
He's not too tired now though, definitely not so much that he would pass this up. ]
This might be the warmest welcome I've gotten so far. [ He'll take the bottle if it's offered, he might even have a couple of glasses around here somewhere. ] Do all gods have shoulders like this, or is that just you?
[ Thor wears sleeveless shirts for two reasons: he's overly warm most of the time and if you had his arms, wouldn't you? It is a natural part of his armor too, so it's a style that suits him best. He's seen Poe before but he's curious to look the man over and see if there are differences. The tousled hair is a particular point of attracation; as he said he remembered running his fingers through Poe's curls. He looks the same but that doesn't mean Thor is immediately assuming the same of him, he understands this is new for him.
But not unwanted company at least, Poe is much too welcoming for that. Thor hands over the bottle and steps inside the room. He keeps his attention on the man, curious and watchful for signs of distress too. It's not easy to appear and have much thrusted upon him (rimshot). He smiles at the compliment. ]
As far as I know it's just me. But I am a warrior-king, it comes with the territory.
[ He is very earnest when he tilts his head at him. ]
How are you feeling, my friend? I know this situation must be very intense.
A god and a warrior-king. You must be great at parties.
[ He's found those glasses and has set them out on the nearest table, and he'll go ahead and fill them up with the drink that Thor's brought, whatever it is. He doesn't often go for alcohol, he's way more likely to reach for anything that has caffeine in it these days, but he's not against at least attempting to relax every once in a while. In theory. It's easier said than done, even when he has no pressing crisis to deal with — which is so often the case these days with the Resistance — he always feels like he should be doing something.
After passing Thor one of those glasses, leaving the bottle open for as many refills as necessary, he sinks onto the bunk rather than squeezing into one of the chairs, smiling despite the sigh that's evoked at the question before venturing a sip of the drink. He's off to the side though, leaving Thor plenty of room to sit wherever he likes. Though if he's looking for a suggestion Poe would be happy to nod toward the space right beside him. ]
I'm used to intense. It's been kind of disorienting, but I think I'm getting the hang of it. [ Settling into his new place here, not worrying too much about how he compares to the history he followed, it's a work in progress. ] What about you, how long have you been here?
(Thor laughs. Modesty has never been one of his gifts, but he also doesn't see a reason to be modest when he's simply describing what he is. A warrior-king god is his identity, but he does know it can come off a little pompous.)
I do have many stories I tell at parties, yes.
(He loves parties and he loves telling stories. Sometimes he tells his glorious war stories, sometimes Thor can simply ramble on about ridiculous things that have happened to him normally due to humor. It's easy to have something to talk about with a stranger, even one who has a completely different life than his. Such as Poe, who he has had moments with but doesn't know a great deal about his life, when it comes down to it.
Thor sits next to him with his drink at the invitation, not jumping right to anything flirtatious so they can get to a comfortable place. He nods in understanding.)
When I first came here, I was confused as well. There had been a me before, so it was an adjustment, but most people here are very understanding about that.
(They would have to be since it keeps happening all of the time. Sooner or later it might be one of them to have that happen. Thor tries to think back about his time there. There are enough major events that keep happening, changing the amount of time in terms of how it feels.)
Months at this point. A very eventful series of months. We were trapped on an icy planet, had magical vines that caused an aphrodisiac state, met supernatural creatures in a suitcase, were stuck on a strange alien planet where they forced people to marry each other if they held hands, it's been odd.
(Odd, yes, but he's talking about it like it's no more strange than the rest of his life, because it isn't.)
